The Jews of Trikala encompassed Romaniote, Sephardic and Ashkenazi communities.

During the German Occupation, on March 23, 1944, the Nazis arrested 112 Jews and deported them to Auschwitz where most of them were exterminated. The remaining 408 members of the community fled and went into hiding. The Community lost 31% of its population. Only 10 Survivors returned after the war.

Today there are around 40 Jews living in Trikala.
